How it works
Chord identification maps note combinations to named chords using interval analysis. Key detection counts sharps and flats against the circle of fifths. BPM conversion applies simple ratio math. Frequency calculations use the A440 equal-temperament formula.
Pro tip
When transposing with a capo, remember that a capo on fret 2 raises the pitch by a whole step. If the original key is G and you put a capo on 2, play the E-shape chords to sound in the key of G.
