Sitemap Gen

A sitemap is an XML file that lists all the important pages on your website. It helps search engines like Google discover and index your content more efficiently. The file follows the sitemaps.org protocol and includes metadata such as when a page was last updated, how often it changes, and its relative importance.

Sitemaps help search engines find pages that might not be discovered through regular crawling, especially on large websites or sites with poor internal linking. While a sitemap does not guarantee indexing, it signals to search engines which pages you consider important and when they were last updated.

Priority values range from 0.0 to 1.0 and indicate the relative importance of a page compared to other pages on your site. A value of 1.0 means highest priority, while 0.0 means lowest. The default is 0.5. Note that priority is a hint to search engines and does not affect ranking directly — it only guides crawl allocation on your own site.

The changefreq tag tells search engines how often a page is likely to change. Options include always, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and never. This is a hint, not a command — search engines may crawl your pages more or less often regardless of this value. Use it to reflect your actual content update schedule.

You can submit your sitemap through Google Search Console under the Sitemaps section. Simply enter the URL of your sitemap (e.g., https://example.com/sitemap.xml) and click Submit. You can also add a Sitemap directive to your robots.txt file: Sitemap: https://example.com/sitemap.xml.
